FAQ

Are the artworks original?

Yes. Each piece is a one-of-one collaborative work created by mother and son.

What materials are used in the artwork?

The works are created on easel paper using a wide range of materials, including finger paint, watercolors, tempera paint sticks, colorful paper tape, crayons, markers, stickers and gems.

As layers build over time, the surfaces naturally develop texture and depth.

How are the artworks created?

The pieces are made on a large wall in our Brooklyn home studio through an open-ended process led by play.

Sheets of paper are mounted side by side and we move across them together using stools to reach the corners. Paint brushes, markers and sponges pass freely between us as we work.

Santi and I create with movement, responding to color, instinct and each other.

How long does it take to make a piece?

Each work develops in its own time. Pieces often hang on our art wall for weeks, allowing us to return to them again and again.

With each visit we add new layers, marks and materials. By the time a piece is finished, it reflects a true collaboration between Santi and me.

What size are the artworks?

All works in the First Drop measure 20 × 24 inches.

Are the artworks framed?

Yes. All works are sold and shipped framed and ready to hang.

How many works are available?

The First Drop includes 18 original pieces.

How does the education fund work?

All proceeds from the sale of these collaborative works support Santi’s education fund. Contributions are made directly to his 529 education savings account on a per-sale basis.

You can read more on the Education Fund page.

When will my order ship?

Orders typically ship within 5 business days after purchase.

Will my artwork include documentation?

Yes. Each piece includes a Certificate of Authenticity confirming it as a one-of-one collaborative work from With Santi Studio.
